In the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible, Revelation 21: 19-20, it describes the foundations of the 12 walls of the Holy City, the new Jerusalem.
Revelation 21: 19-20. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
One of my interests is precious stones so on the next 12 days I am going to share information about the attributes of the stones that make up these 12 foundations. Crystals have been used for centuries for healing as well as for decoration. Precious stones are mentioned in the Bible numerous times. In Exodus 28: 15-20 the Bible tells the instructions for the breastplate for Aaron. It was used for decision making. The 12 precious stones listed to be placed on Aaron’s breastplate in the Old Testament are almost the same as the foundation stones of The new Jerusalem in the New Testament. Hope you will find this information interesting.
