Mom’s Banana Nut Bread
2 cups sugar. 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup shortening. 2/3 cup buttermilk
2 eggs 3 mashed ripe bananas
3 cups flour. 1/2 cup walnuts
pinch of salt
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Mix baking soda into buttermilk. Add alternately the buttermilk mixture and the flour. Add salt. Add mashed bananas and the nuts. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Enjoy!
