The Ides of March

Beware the Ides of March!

March 15 is “the Ides of March”. In Roman times the ides was a day falling in the middle of the month that coincided with the full moon. Julius Caesar, a Roman dictator, was told by a seer to “Beware the Ides of March” and on that date in 44 BCE he was stabbed to death in Rome, Italy, by about 40 Roman senators. William Shakespeare wrote a play, “Julius Caesar”, which was first performed in 1599 and made the line “Beware the Ides of March” a well known quote. Wishing for you only happiness today!
