National Caramel Popcorn Day!

Mom’s Caramel Popcorn recipe

  • 1/2 lb. Butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup karo
  • Boil in a large pan for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add:
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla butternut flavoring
  • Pour over 5 quarts of popped popcorn in a large roaster.
  • Bake in oven for 40 minutes at 250 degrees, stirring occasionally.
  • Spread out on waxed paper to cool.
  • This freezes well.
